Use Search Tool, Audition and Book Voice Artists      Free

Keep your work fresh by using different voices in your production work!
We've been helping producers find and contact voices for use in their projects for the past nine years.
Audition a voiceover’s showreel online and obtain contact details and other information. In many cases a voiceover can be contacted direct for quotes and bookings.
In addition, discover brand new talent in our ‘New Talent’ section. These aspiring voiceovers are eager to advance in this industry and so many are willing to work extra hard to give you a voice read that you are happy with. Many are looking for jobs to develop their showreel, and some may offer a low cost solution for your mutual benefit.

If you cannot find a voice for your project, tell us what you want! We offer a more in-depth, low cost, voice casting service - see below.

Related Question: Do you take a commission from voice artists when I book them? / get booked?

Our website offers an "open booking" approach, meaning voices that pay to be featured can advertise their direct contact details. Thus we have no right to any commission or fees from bookings which go via the website and thus do not go via our team of personnel. We may charge a fee for finding a voice or acting as an intermediary. This is to cover personnel time dealing with your enquiry.

Help me sell my own Products and Services

We can help resell your products and services. We are looking for a reliable pool of freelance producers and production companies who we can use to satisfy the demand for voiceover related products.
Some companies who use our services will find an ideal voice, but then do not wish to contact voiceover artists directly, but require quotes on a more complete service - which involve voice recording, but also editing, possibly mixing with music, and sometimes encoding into telecoms formats.

If you can help, please send us as much information as possible on your products/services, including,
  • Name and email address for quotes/bookings
  • Are you VAT registered?
  • Where you are based
  • How you can deliver your products (CD, mp3, FTP etc.)
  • Your range of products and their rate to us, plus basic hourly rate for production if you have one.
  • Your normal turnaround times if possible
If you have an audio demo, then that would be great.

Send info to: info@voiceovers.co.uk
Or via post:

Help me find / book voiceover artists      By Quotation

If you know how the industry works and are happy to negotiate rates yourself, please feel free to use our website search tool to find a voiceover artist. We recommend creating a shortlist of no more than 5 voices - contacting more voices for quotes can be a waste of time and effort, for both yourself and the voice artists.
However, if you have a voice requirement and either you can't find what you are looking for on the website, or don't want to find or book a voice yourself - then we offer a casting/recording service.
In addition, some of the voices we work with aren't featured online and we have a large library of voiceover demos. We regularly organise recording for multi-lingual projects for example.
From time to time we do get very specific requests which cannot be satisfied - but please drop us a line with your requirement and we will tell you if we can or can't help.
Our email address is info@voiceovers.co.uk, you can call us on 0871 309 6653

  For Aspiring Voices

An Introduction to the Voiceover Industry      FREE (electronic version)

Although the industry is very competitive, there is still need for new voices with unique native accents, multi-lingual abilities or from ethnic backgrounds.
We have a free 4-page factsheet which introduces you to the voiceover industry and starts you thinking along the right lines. Send a blank email to our automated email address: howto@voiceovers.co.uk and our system will reply with the factsheet in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format.
Your email address will be stored by us so we can send you any future updates to this guide or information specific to aspiring voiceover artists. If you also want to sign up for the Voiceovers.co.uk newsletter "Keep Fresh!", send a blank email to getfresh@voiceovers.co.uk.
Please note that these are automated email addresses and we may not personally read emails that are sent to these addresses. If you have additional queries or want advice on the voiceover industry, please consider our other products or workshops.

Workshop: Essential Voiceover Skills

Please note - we are NOT currently planning to run any more workshops in 2007. Please check back in 2008.

(We run Workshops for aspiring voiceover artists. Get hands-on experience in a working studio environment, explore your vocal abilities and get advice and training from industry experts.
The workshop is normally run as a one-to-one training session over 3.5 hours and are booked on a first-come first-served basis. To find out more, including a course outline and fees, please request an information pack - click "Training" from the main menu above.)

Featuring Yourself In Our New Talent (Aspiring Voices) Section      150 GBP + VAT (176.25) (setup fee, then 50 GBP + VAT (58.75) annual fee in subsequent years)

If you have a great voice, perhaps with some voiceover experience already, then get your showreel together and get yourself heard!
The voiceover industry can be very competitive and difficult to break into.
The New Talent section is a place where you, as an aspiring voiceover artist, can exhibit your demo audio. Experience of "new talent" artists on our site vary from those who have just produced their first audio demo and are yet to do their first real session, to those who have experience in voiceover work but are still establishing themselves or their audio portfolio. Some voices have extensive experience in a related industry, such as acting or radio presentation.
Please familiarise yourself with our website and our voiceover profile pages to see how everything works.
The New Talent section is ideally suited to those who already have some voiceover, acting or radio presentation experience. Your profile page allows you to specify how you can be booked, whether you offer discounted rates in return for copies of your work, and an avenue to ask visitors for feedback, studio facilities or other help. Before you apply, you should get together a showreel and research how you can be professionally recorded (local studios etc.). We would also recommend you have a look at our "how to" factsheet, together with our training Workshop.
Producers can find you and book you direct - meaning you should be able to accept email and/or telephone enquiries from interested producers. We create and host your web page (with an address of the form www.voiceovers.co.uk/first.lastname). Your showreel will be encoded into mp3 format (maximum length 4 x 3 minutes). Your page will be accessible from our New Talent section of the web site. You can update the textual content on your page yourself using your browser, so you can keep your details up to date.

PLEASE NOTE. We are not currently considering any more applications from Neutral English artists who do not have their own professional recording facilties. It is simply too competitive - and studio overheads in terms of cost and time make it unlikely you will get work.

To apply, please fill out our "Voiceover Demo Submission Form" which is available here
(Right-click and "Save Target As..." to store it to your hard drive).

Related Question: If I sign up as an aspiring artist, can I move to the "established" section at a later date?

Only if you qualify as an "established artist". See definition above. We have a special application form for this which you can submit with an updated demo. There are no guarantees and we reserve the right to reject applications as we see fit.

Related Question: I'm looking for representation, can you help?

Yes and No. We do "manage" a small number of artists, and tend to grow this list by one or two voices a year. If you have a unique skill or characteristic, then please send us your demo or contact us - wherever you are based in the world. If you are based in Plymouth, then please also contact us. We are also interested in aspiring voices who have diverse backgrounds, interesting accents and from minority groups. We have found that quite a few artists have used their exposure on Voiceovers.co.uk to gain themselves an agent - so this is also an option. For us to feasibly represent you, you will need good access to professional recording facilities and be generally available for voice work. Our own studio facilities are in Plymouth, Devon (on the Devon and Cornwall border).
To apply, please fill out our "Voiceover Demo Submission Form" which is available here
(Right-click and "Save Target As..." to store it to your hard drive).

  For Established Voiceover Artists

Marketing yourself by being featured on Voiceovers.co.uk      200 GBP + VAT (235.00) (setup fee, then 75 GBP + VAT (88.13) annual fee in subsequent years)

We are currently accepting applications from world-wide established voiceover talent. Successful applicants will be added to the search engine on our front page. This will link to a profile web site we create for you, which includes a description of your voice, previous clients, booking information and availability, together with your demo audio of course!

We have grown to be one of the biggest sites of our kind in the UK, and we get a high number of applications to join us. Please bear with us and we will process your application as quickly as possible. We reserve the right to refuse applications as we see fit - we want you to get work and sometimes we may feel you are not offering anything new to our existing pool of voiceovers. It's always good to highlight your uniqueness, for example; you don't live in London, you have an interesting native accent etc.
Please familiarise yourself with our website and our voiceover profile pages to see how everything works. Your profile page has it's own direct web address.
If you choose to expose your own direct contact details, producers can obtain quotes and book you direct. This means that we do not need to get involved in the bookings and as such will not take a commission or add a booking fee.
Our fees have recently been reviewed, and provide excellent value for money compared to advertising rates in other key industry resources. Please note that VAT will be added to these fees. We charge a setup fee of 200 GBP + VAT and a 75 GBP + VAT annual fee payable from the first anniversary onwards. This is an annual re-occuring fee and only becomes payable after your application has been approved and you have been placed online.
You will draw visitors to your demos and profile page through our popular search engine, which itself benefits from great Google/Yahoo placement and our proactive marketing of the website facility to producers.

To keep your website content fresh, the textual content of your website can be updated by yourself, at any time using your web browser and a password we provide you with. This is a unique and useful feature provided as standard. Alternatively, you can email your updates to us.
Please note that an Established Voiceovers.co.uk subscription is only appropriate for those voiceovers who are established in the industry and have valid experience from varied companies/producers. Your showreel should include a selection of authentic client reads - and should not contain any reads which mention company names if they are not attributed as previous clients.

PLEASE NOTE. We have a very high number of applications to process. Your application may take in excess of 6 months to be reviewed by our team. We do apologise for the delay. Some styles of voice are already over-catered for on our website, and we sometimes operate a 'one in', 'one out' policy. Once you have been accepted, you will be given a different (priority) email address that you can contact us on.

To apply, please fill out our "Voiceover Demo Submission Form" which is available here
(Right-click and "Save Target As..." to store it to your hard drive).

Related Question: How many samples can I have?

The webpage limit is currently 4. Your sample limit on search engine results is currently 15.

Related Question: How do you define the term "established voiceover artist"?

If you are an established actor, radio presenter, newsreader, then we don't really classify you as an "established voiceover artist". As an established voiceover artist you should be getting almost daily work reading voiceover scripts from a varied source of clients. It is fine if you are specialised in a particular area - such as documentary narration, or commercial scripts. You should also have a professionally recorded demo which contains "real" work, no mention of company or brand names unless the work was actually undertaken. You must have access to reliable professional studio facilities and generally be available for voice work (i.e. not have another full time job).

Representation / Voice Artist Management      Normally 15% cut

For the majority of voiceover artists, this is not normally feasible.
However, we do "manage" a very small number of artists, and tend to grow this list by one or two voices a year. If you have a unique skill or characteristic, then please send us your demo or contact us - wherever you are based in the world. We are also interested in voiceovers who have diverse backgrounds, interesting accents and from minority groups. If you are based in Plymouth, then please also contact us.
For our postal address, see previous answer.
We have found that quite a few artists have used their exposure on Voiceovers.co.uk to gain themselves an agent - so this is also an option.

To apply, please fill out our "Voiceover Demo Submission Form" which is available here
(Right-click and "Save Target As..." to store it to your hard drive).

  Showreels

Simple Showreel Editing      50 GBP + VAT (58.75)

We can perform simple showreel editing using our experienced studio personnel. For 50 GBP + VAT we can record off clips from varied mediums - CD, cassette, DAT, video tape etc. and montage these together. We'd normally recommend a one minute montage focused towards your primary skill area(s), and then a separate (2/3 minute) demo per main skill area. For example, Commercial, Corporate/On-hold, Characters/Cartoons/Impressions, Documentary Narration, Dramatic/Acting.
You should obtain as many clips as possible. We can choose the best clips or alternatively you can advise us exactly what you want.
This service does not include studio time for new recordings - and simply includes professional editing of up to 5 hours.

  Other Services / Products

Studio Hire      Please Call

Our new studios are designed for vocal work, and not appropriate for full band or music recording.
We are based on the Devon / Cornwall border in Plymouth. Our normal studio hire is an hourly rate.
If you are a voiceover on holiday in the area, or indeed moving to the area, we can usually come to some hire arrangement based on a percentage of the work undertaken.
Please email info@voiceovers.co.uk or call 0871 309 6653.
